so fine

Down with first week of classes :) So far i can say that im happy with my chosen modules. Econometrics is undoubtedly intimidating but im trying to feel better about it. Also hoping to get the most out of money&banking and build up on my newfound interest in environmental econs. Definitely glad to see familiar faces such as dhan and marcus in cultural studies! Besides, the lecturers are two of the most animated ones i've ever met. I have a feeling some really abstract ideas are gotta be discussed as the course proceeds, and that's gona be a challenge. As for Singapore studies, im kinda looking forward to the somewhat deviant or even subversive concepts that are gona get thrown up along the way. Ahh, some pretty deep first impressions i've got here.

The awards ceremony was quite an eye-opener too! Really pleased to catch up with fellow econs buddies kaimin, ziyang and kim cheong. Oh, and of cos new (though technically not that new) friends krystal and yern fai. What an incredible way to end the school week :) AHH now im getting hyped up for ikhwan's and esther's parties this weekend! I kept saying that my heart's still in canberra, but at the same time my mind's telling me i've many many more happily hectic days ahead.

it's been a while

First things first: the battlefield for this coming sem of my senior year!
Econometrics II
Money & Banking I
Environmental Economics
The Evolution of a Global City-State
Introduction to Cultural Studies

I'm actually quite excited to start school again. In contrast to last summer i didn't allow my brains to rot for 3 months. Since returning from the winter programme in canberra 2+ weeks ago i've been missing everyone so badly! Managed to catch up with VJ who's spending 2 months in NUS, and we couldn't help but reminisce about the quirks of our fellow course mates :) Had to do a write-up on the programme for the school today, and also send in a few photos. Some of us have uploaded plenty of photos onto facebook but i'd like to add several more, which are taken by our very friendly administrative coordinator Tim Mansfield (whom we discovered also happens to be an awesome soccer goalie!)

Mini-Copenhagen conference on the final day.

Sahana- representing Brazil

Ihn Teck- representing Congo

Boldmaa- WBCSD. Check out the cool helmet!

Weini- FOE. Peace out.

Franziska and Danny- Indigenous people. Love the facepaint. How sweet :)

Ruby and I- Indonesia. We put our cream-coloured scarves to good use!

VJ- Papua New Guinea. The bag + hair + purple tie made everyone crack up :D

Ritika- the US. Of cos, she wants it all!

Our gorgeous European Kirstine's conference photo is missing so here's a classic photo of her that Boldmaa took.

Read: sleepless nights spent slogging for tutorial preparations and essays. Perfect illustration! :)
