in your head

I've been fine waking up for 12 weeks of 8am lectures, and yet waking up for a 9am paper today gave me such a massive headache. My body clock is screwed up! Anyway, real estate law today was okay, except that the quantity and (I think) quality of my answers began to decrease in the second half. ROAR. Let's hope consistency would help make up for it. It wasn't really a morale-booster, but there're certainly more important and pressing matters on my mind right now.

Such as praying that the flu bug would stay away.

p.s.: the female version of adam lambert got kicked outta AI =/

shocking discovery

We should reallyreallyreallyreally NEVER EVER judge a book by its cover. Hahahaha. Approach me for details!

have a break

It's a semestral ritual to be extra chilled the day before exams begin, so here I am.

Loads happening in my family and amongst my closest friends right now. But it's precisely under such circumstances where resilience would come in extremely useful. And I'm not gona find any excuses. It's do or die. HAHA okay that's a little exaggerated.

After much globe-trotting last summer, this time would be a lot more low-key. Time to save, get a temp job, get my teeth cleaned, get the remaining wisdom teeth extracted (maybe), go for the interview (maybe)! Still hope to travel a bit just before next semester though.

One down tomorrow, and then 4 papers in 3 days. Break-neck speed! Hope I'll survive that :)

back to basics

What a pretty messed-up world.

With many many many sighs attached to the above conclusion.

Need to take a few steps back, detach myself from the rat race, view things objectively, see people in a new light.

And I'll start today.

[edit] I'm secretly pleased I got 'forced' to watch Kick-ass. The idea of a superhero kid avenging a family tragedy is morbid but kinda refreshing (x And bumped into my BFF on the bus! Haha.

The night is still young.

gratitude

I jokingly told timmy's sisters that I've been dating somebody else at the same time for the past few months, and that somebody is my work. Both of them, 14 and 16 respectively, laughed their butts off. Maybe in 6-8 years' time they'd be cracking the same joke to other people (x

Anyway friday's half-surprise ("half" because I was told about it only the day before) was awesomely fun! Thanks to my gorgeous organisers and everyone who turned up despite having to rush down after work/ sit for an exam the next day haha! And my beloveds who couldn't be there- I still love you all soooo muchhhh and you know who you are :):):) And I managed to stay sober wooooots! It's either my liver has better stamina than I do, or it's just sheer will power :D which I most likely would need A LOT for the next few weeks.

This wasn't on friday but I just saw it and I think it's niiiiice so here it is :) and it's at timbre too haha we just love the place too much.

All the fury early in the day are gone with the wind.

Good end to the semester: won a debate! :)))))) I was doing quite a bit of cross-firing, and I caught fire. HAHAHA. After that, people started whipping out their cameras. And then it hit me: last day, last day. Goodbyes are not only hard to say; they are also hard to watch :(((((

Sigh. It's impossible to still be angry and feisty when realities hit you in the face like that.

Anyway, sis and eric are here for dinner. Bye!

third year. last day.

Projects. Done.
Group assignments. Done.
Research assistant work. Done (for now).

Strange as it may seem, I'm a lot happier doing the last item rather than the first two. Because at least I have a sense of purpose. I know what my role is. I learn from the pros. I don't need to bear the brunt of other people's sh*t.

But then again, maybe bearing the brunt of other people's sh*t is just the way life is. I'm just praying very hard everything will turn out fine in the end. Sometimes just FINE is good enough. I'd get what I need, not what I want, right?

On the bright side, I have ALOOOOOT to look forward to TOMORROW!!! :))))) Besides, I'm very very happy and very very proud of the fact that timmy (and some of his Laselle friends) co-wrote and recorded a song for me!! Omgomgomg :))))) I'd get the CD tomorrow. I wana listen to it a thousand million trillion times over!

Okay, should get a hold of myself. Time to head for the last class of the semester.

Every cloud has a silver lining.

INEFFICIENCY

It's the time of the semester again to complain a lot.

PROJECT PROJECT PROJECT. Actually it's more of EDITING EDITING EDITING. It's STUPID to have to waste so much time editing and re-editing irrelevant nitty-gritty stuff like the frigging language, and leaving little time to beef up the content. Seriously, 5 people's worth of work always end up feeling like twice or thrice the amount. Oh, actually, I change my mind. What p*sses the sh*t out of me isn't only the lack of effort to double-check language/expression/punctuation, but also the fact that the culprit has the cheek to say aloud, "eh I don't know what I was writing leh" AND ON TOP OF THAT, add "doesn't make sense right?"

YES. ABSOLUTELY. SO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT INSTEAD OF JUST DUMPING YOUR SLOPPY WORK TO THE EDITORS (I'm not one of them BUT STILL?!?!)

I can't believe I'm writing about this again! :(

May weekend yoga prevent me from bursting a vein.

It's really a blessing to have someone you can be entirely, completely, absolutely truthful with. I like saying what I want. I like to share about XYZ without having to be afraid about stepping on anyone's toes. Sometimes I don't like to have to think too much. Sometimes I like to just let my instincts and my intuition do the work. But how many people can actually accept your instincts and intuition without judging you and misunderstanding you?

I am indeed very blessed too.

wtf

I just received an email notification from one of the tuition agencies regarding a new assignment, and it says:
Subject(s): Pri 4 Math (student almost full marks)

?!?!?!?!? I have a feeling the parent(s) wrote this when registering for the kid. What the hell. It's either the parents are bullsh**ting/showing off, or it's a case of unreasonably high expectations. Come on, we're talking about a 10-year-old kid here. He/she deserves a proper childhood, rather than spend these delicate years trying to be an over-achiever (yes I believe there's such a thing).

Okay back to real estate law. By the way, I recently learnt that the amount of taxes one has to pay when dealing with property (i.e. buying/selling/renting/upgrading/making applications) is ENORMOUS =/ As the saying goes, the only things in life that are certain are death and taxes.
