a rather self-indulging post
Small price to pay for a big lesson.
I need to clear my head.
I'm not gona lose sleep over trivial matters. I just have my principles and I stick to them. I should be clear about and be proud of my strengths: I like being organised, I can link ideas and concepts well, I have opinions, I'm not afraid of hard work, I know how to prioritize. And I do - and will continue to - put them to good use.
With presentations and assignments out of the way by tomorrow, I can focus on catching up on the syllabus, getting down to writing my two project reports, and proceeding with the editing stuff. Prof C mentioned GRP in lecture yesterday, and it felt good knowing that I have actually learnt about it while editing the first article two weeks ago. I need the kind of confidence I had before last semester.
I feel awfully guilty for neglecting my yoga for the past two weeks. Trudging from one faculty to another in heels all day today gave me such a stiff back, and at the back of my mind I know that if I've been sticking to my practice schedule, I won't have anything to complain about.
Also, people relations just got a little trickier, a little darker, a little sadder. On the other hand, some got a little better, a little deeper, a little closer.
And then I'd move on.
family is forever
I hope I won't cry at the ceremony tomorrow and ruin my make-up.
Flowers arranged. Food and beverage in place. Decorations put up. Outfits sewn and pressed. Grooming done. Action plan memorised.
To me weddings are just formalities. What's really exciting and important comes after that. Which is why I'm super emotional because the person I grew up with for the past 22 years is entering the next stage of her life, and I'm overwhelmed by happiness for her.

Goodnight, world.
TGIT = thank God it's Thursday
My weekend officially began at 9am today, but project meeting and attempts to edit group assignment kept me in school the entire day. Super worn out. I think I ain't the only one though. Tim is sick, ikh is sick, uncle quan is sick, kim is sick, marcus is sick... The flu bug's been busy too eh? =/ Anyway, bumped into a friend first thing in the morning, who told me he "took a break" over last weekend in penang with his girlfriend so he missed class on monday hahaha im envious! I need a break too! I guess just not now. 3 presentations over 2 days next week!
reflective
Feels like it hasn't quite sunk in yet.
My sister is getting married this Saturday. Oh man. It feels unreal. I'm gona be so lonely at home soon :( But deep down I know she's been through enough to deserve all the happiness especially on this Big Day :)
Anyway,
why on earth did I do what I did. Sigh. I need to appreciate people around me more.
Folks are coming back early tomorrow morning. I actually missed them a lot.
work it work it
I am sooooo tired now! The transition from elementary to intermediate level is bigger than I expected. My legs were trembling after only 1.5hours! And it felt a little awkward cos I'm the only new member in the class (all the others have been around for a year or so). My instructor was nice enough to ask me at the end how I felt- usually she doesn't seem very approachable. But I'm glad I tried my best. And I'm gona PRACTISE. Especially those backbends.. omg. All I wana do now is curl up in bed and sleep =/
Now whoever says yoga is "just breathing and stretching" can really go and die.
fresh blank page
Never quite emerged from an interview feeling totally good about it, so this isn't exactly anything new =/ Not very convenient to post details here, but I really hope I get the job. It's amazing what intense reading-up can do for you. There's so much you can find out just clicking on website after website. And talking to some pros definitely helped a lot. So I really hope I didn't/won't disappoint the people who gave me the golden opportunity, encouraged me, and believe in me.
Meanwhile, time to catch up on tonnes of projects and assignments and editing work. Goodbye for now world, and hope the best for me. Heh.
biatching again
I envy my folks. I also won't mind just dropping everything and fly to europe for 11 days. Like a dream.
But I'm not gona complain about the fact that I'd have a lot more personal space this week and bury myself in things that I need to do and love to do. I'm happy that I'm learning so much. This sem is tough - what's new - but I REFUSE to stress myself out. For the sake of my sanity, emotions, skin, hair, complexion, figure (cos stress makes you pig out more than you should). And in order to not to be stressed out I need to be positive! So I like motivated people and I like to motivate people. I like people who try to see the 'big picture', whatever that really entails. I like to feel that people around me are working hard toward anything better. For various purposes, not just for blardy grades, or just to 'save face'. Don't you think it's really sad that there're always some people whom you can never really talk to, unless when they ask you how's this module how's that module, or how to score for some module? So damn pointless.
Something somewhat related- the MOE is starting to focus on more 'soft skills' in schools via more classes in art, music and PE. LIKE HELLO, FINALLY?! It takes decades to see results. They must be thinking, oh damn, better start now or else we'd just be producing more exam-smart but boring and myopic automatons.
YES.
still raring to go
I think I just implicitly made my remaining semester 5 times busier! Ohwell, life's too short to keep saying 'no', and besides, it's somewhat a good investment :)
The only way to go is forward.

I'm already feeling lazy on a TUESDAY MORNING?!?!?!
-
First thought on a sunday morning: Feeling the ache from the full triangle!

I'm seriously super tired. Just printed out the sample questions for next week's midterm but I don't even feel like doing any of it. It's strange how when I'm feeling exhausted, I always try and recall what I've been doing. Almost like trying to find reasons for the fatigue. For today I'm quite sure why. Waking up for 8am lectures every week is no joke. I never fail to be impressed by how annie always seems so awake and alert in class haha. Positive peer pressure! Anyway, it didn't help that the presentation later in the day wasn't satisfactory. But it's kinda pointless to discuss whose fault it was and what the relevant parties could have done, and after all it's supposed to be a group effort so.. ohwell we've some time to edit before posting up the final product, so might as well help to get it done and over with.
Hah, was just feeling really feisty on the way home, and I told timmy, after going through the same damn thing time and again, I'm inclined to conclude that we don't have many conscientious people in this world after all. He said half in jest, "now then you know." Tsk. Deep down I preferred to just think people make mistakes. But it's actually not that simple.
AAHHH. I need a getaway of some sort.
