new year resolutions

Your mission in life is to have fun. Sorry but that isnt MY purpose. i dont believe in merely having fun. ive learnt that we're owners of nothing but stewards of everything. all your achievements, all your intelligence, all your skills and ability, have you ever wondered where did they come from? do you take them for granted? do you feel proud simply becos you possess them? let me tell you, you possess nothing. God has blessed you with the best he thinks you deserve, but are you thankful for them? You dont know how much people envy you for what you have. Show your appreciation by humbling yourself and making someone else’s life better.

this was taken from one of my entries in my private diary a couple of months back. in retrospect i sounded really thoughtful, didnt i? hehh. what can i say, im just so glad that some things happened. they're meant to be.

so much for 2005.
and here are my resolutions for the new year (:

1. have bible-study every day
2. be more demure (HAHA!)
3. be more open-minded
4. exercise MORE! ("you have gained so much weight!" - aunt)
5. be nice to my juniors :D

end of (holi)days

Christmas was great! went for some drama event at trinity and then the rest was spent at a resort with my grandmama and relatives and my herd of little cousins (: learnt alot new about the latter. one loves to grab girls' chests, another likes to ride on me (nownow no naughty thoughts!), the other gropes people's asses for no reason, and one more loves to claw people. the things they do are so crazy, so infuriating yet amusing! oh and i had a good workout from carrying my 15-kg cousin for almost an hr :D trust me, it makes you feel like you've got bigger biceps overnight.

anyway thanks for all the prayers, pretty cards and presents! (:(:

sighh. just 2 more days to the end of the year. shall post my new year resolutions soon! haha it will be my third list already!

ugly passenger

lesson of the day:
beware of the horrible humongous old man who takes up one and a half seats on the bus, yet gets awfully agitated when he gets elbowed accidentally, stuffs his things roughly by his side in protest, and even deliberately pushes his newspaper into others' faces. and not to mention, that look of disdain spread across his face.

whats with unpleasant old men on the bus.

reminds of teachers' day, when a bunch of us ex-fourtwelvers were chatting on the bus, some old guy gave us a tongue-lashing about "jc girls not knowing how to behave in public". i dont see what is wrong with talking and laughing loudly on the bus. fellow passengers with vulnerable ear drums as well as an appalling attitude should just either shut their ears or shut their mouths.

nonetheless, HAVE A FAB CHRISTMAS EVE, EVERYONE (:(:

12 days

the lil' baby in white drinking from a giant milo packet. picture perfect (:(:

met this interesting old man while doing some random Christmas shopping. he first made a comment abt some Christmas decorations before launching into his life story. said smth about how his brother (or brother-in-law, i cant rmb) was called to be a pastor at a certain church, and how his sisters came to Christ too. then he told me tt in 1977 he met an accident in jb while on a mission trip, broke his head and fell into a coma. docs said it would take a long time before he wakes up and even if he does, he'd lose his memory. at the critical stages, docs estimated tt he wouldnt survive beyond 10 days. his eyes lit up when he spoke of how a miracle allowed him to wake up within half a month and that he could still remember all his family members. he then went on to ask abt my family's religion and said he hoped tt i would "achieve great things by God's grace". heh i thought that was really nice of him.

Christmas makes me think alot.

farewell

they said he left 'peacefully'. i wasnt there to see all the crying and wailing. i just saw bloodshot eyes, exhausted faces, dazed looks. and then i saw the body placed in the middle of the seemingly empty living room, fully concealed except for the feet. apparently it was some sort of custom that im not familiar with. i had wanted to see his face for perhaps the last time. i remember holding his emaciated hand just last sunday, and there was this..strange look in his sunken eyes. maybe it was his way of saying goodbye.

goodbye grandpa.
