"You look at that river gently flowing by. You notice the leaves rustling with the wind. You hear the birds; you hear the tree frogs. In the distance you hear a cow. You feel the grass. The mud gives a little bit on the river bank. It’s quiet; it’s peaceful. And all of a sudden, it’s a gear shift inside you. And it’s like taking a deep breath and going, 'Oh yeah, I forgot about this'."

everyone should watch An Inconvenient Truth. it's the kind of show that makes you go "wow" unintentionally. my science lecturer screened it during our lesson a couple of days ago, as it aptly summed up the chapter on global warming. Al Gore is tremendously charismatic, believe me (: (I've always thought so ever since the 2000 US presidential elections, but that's besides the point haha.) Despite making several 'scientific errors' and supposedly 'alarmist claims', the movie did drive home an important message - it's time to stop being passive. the lecturer himself revealed that he ended his research work on atmospheric chemistry not because he lost interest in it or anything along that line, but because he felt "all the science that should be done have already been done"; what's left undone is taking the initiative to solve the problems that science has proven. not trying to sound like an environmental activist here, but somehow this makes me think twice about the way we deal with circumstances we are in. we worry about many things all the time, both in the present and in the future. yeaa fear of the unknown, fear of uncertainties, i guess that's just human. but how about being active in what's within our control? A friend recently advised me to "live for the moment" when i was sharing some personal issues. great advice, i must say (:

yeaa i know i should be studying now, but after being cooped up in the sch lib for 12hrs yest, i can't resist taking a (prolonged) break. daydreaming helps to destress! aaahhhh! call please call.
