hell week

If this week isn't the hell of hell, I don't know what it is.

Had cultural studies project meeting on monday night in school till 11.05pm, and 3 of us in the group missed our last bus home, and we were frantically searching for alternative routes. Rushed home to finish up the last econometrics assignment due the next afternoon.

Barely slept, and got rudely woken up by a bad diarrhoea at 6am, which lasted through, on and off, the next 2 days. Still headed to school for the review lectures, praying silently the whole time I wouldn't need to run for the bathroom 6 times a day like I did on the first day. Felt slightly ashamed that even as a senior I had no idea that fees for consultation and standard drugs at the University Health Centre are waived so I didn't have to pay a cent.

Discovered several major/minor glitches in env proj report and data analyses- more panic, more editing, more discussion. Just had a 6-hour mass editing marathon on MSN with ziying, quan and liwei. Everyone was getting cranky towards the end. Woke up and checked through dataset for the last time, only to discover another minor mistake with some units. Ironed things out with liwei's help (poor thing, he barely slept 4 hours i think) cos i'm so bad/slow with statistical regression. Currently hoping fervently that all that needs to be done are done.

Sigh.

Revision for exams has evidently taken a backseat. But I guess that's inevitable. Heard from yaohui that some dude had a seizure during macro make-up lecture. Ziying brought it up again online yesterday too. She was spot-on when she said, that put things into perspective cos what's the point of studying so hard if anyone dies like that. Tsk. I guess we've gotta take a step back every now and then.

I got enlightened on several issues as well. Really grateful for the ones who really care, the ones who are in this with me every step of the way, the ones who put collective needs above their own.

I really need to detach myself from my laptop for a while.
