ouchh

i have much to say about the new season of singapore idol.

last week i thought the first 7 guys were not really impressive, but this week was worse. WORSE. i found myself cringing halfway through the show. it's strange how some of them can actually get into top 28. it's not about giving zero credit to the talents of the contestants, it's about some of them trying too hard. trying too hard to be like vanessa williams. trying too hard to be like alicia keys. i guess those who watched the show will know who im referring to. well, ken lim offered the most apt word to describe how im feeling now - ANTAGONISED. i tell you, the last performance of the night was the last straw mans. forget the bullshit about missing the opening of the song, she just sounded terrible throughout. i thought she'd regain her composure after the initial shock, but the recovery never came. what's more, i think the judges are too kind. too eager to maintain the confidence and pride of the contestants so much so that they just refuse to dish out the cold hard truth. except for ken lim. he's the only member of the panel who seems real to me and is the only one who makes sense.

darn, i desperately need some good reality shows to pump up my spirits. like amazing race or something. or even american idol. at least there's more substance!
